Daises Room (2-3 Year Olds)

Daises Room

These children are in the "Birth to Three Framework", a carefully planned programme which ensures a non-structured approach. Children's personal, social and emotional development is nurtured in order to foster independence.

There is a mix of adult and child-led activities some of which are, free-flow play, music and movement, baking, singing, stories, ICT, puzzles, messy and creative play such as role play, painting, play dough, and crazy foam. A gentle six week period of visits up to the next nursery room "Bluebells" (3-5 years) ensures a smooth transition for the children, which helps them to settle into their new room with ease.

Toilet training is encouraged in Daises and the nursery supervisor and team will work with you to help the children in this area, before moving up to the next room.

On commencing at the Nursery and on moving rooms, each child will be in the care of their own Keyworker who keeps a special eye on particular children. Your child's Keyworker is your first point of contact with the Nursery and she/he will ensure that you receive a daily verbal or written handover telling you about your child's day and achievements. Your Keyworker will also ensure that she/he maintains records of development for your child so that you are kept informed of their progress during their time her.
