Bluebells Room
The children in this room are in the Foundation Stage. The Foundation Stage curriculum covers the ages of 3-6 years. It begins at nursery and flows through to the end of reception year at school. Formal schooling begins in Year 1.
At Roslin Day Nursery we believe in helping children to achieve to their best ability and our teachers thoroughly plan for children to experience many opportunities for learning which will help them "prepare for life".
In the Foundation Stage there are six areas of learning: These are Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Communication, Language and Literacy, Mathematical Development, Creative Development, Physical Development and Knowledge and Understanding of the World.
On commencing at the Nursery and on moving rooms, each child will be in the care of their own Keyworker who keeps a special eye on particular children. Your child's Keyworker is your first point of contact with the Nursery and she/he will ensure that you receive a daily verbal or written handover telling you about your child's day and achievements. Your Keyworker will also ensure that she/he maintains records of development for your child so that you are kept informed of their progress during their time her.
From September 2008 the Nursery will be following the new Early Years Foundation stage curriculum.
The Nursery Education Grant is available for children aged 3 and 4 years.
